Gambit No. 6 Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a bold, layered bourbon built around complexity and texture rather than a single dominant note. Matured using six distinct barrel types, it delivers a rich, multi-dimensional profile that unfolds in stages — sweet, spiced, and oak-driven — making it a standout pour for drinkers who appreciate thoughtful construction and depth.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Gambit No. 6 is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey crafted with an intentional, multi-barrel maturation strategy designed to enhance complexity and balance. The bourbon begins with a traditional mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, distilled and aged in compliance with Kentucky straight bourbon standards.
What defines Gambit No. 6 is its six-barrel maturation program. The whiskey is matured across six different barrel types, each selected to contribute a specific layer of flavor — from classic vanilla-caramel sweetness to spice, structure, and deeper oak character. Through careful blending of these barrel influences, the final whiskey achieves a broader aromatic range and a more dynamic palate than a single-barrel or single-cask-type bourbon.
This approach emphasizes balance and complexity rather than overt sweetness or heat, positioning Gambit No. 6 as a deliberately engineered bourbon that rewards slow exploration.
Tasting Profile
Nose:
Lush and inviting, with vanilla bean, caramel, and toasted oak at the forefront, accompanied by cinnamon stick, dried pear, and subtle fruit compote notes that emerge with gentle warmth.
Palate:
Full-flavored and well-structured, opening on brown sugar and toffee, followed by baking spice, black pepper, and a hint of toasted grain. The oak influence deepens mid-palate, contributing light leather and cedar wood nuance.
Finish:
Warm and lingering, with a satisfying echo of spice, caramelized fruit, and gentle oak tannins — leaving a balanced and contemplative conclusion.
